hand-written letter, transcript follows

Your Excellency:

I am an engineer writing to you from London, Canada. I am deeply concerned to hear that human-rights activists Alexandre Ibacka Dzabana and Christ Dongui were both arrested in March. I believe, as do many others, that they are being arbitrarily detained solely for peacefully exercising their human rights.

I call on you to immediately and unconditionally release Alexandre Ibacka Dzabana and Christ Dongui. Pending their release, please ensure that they have regular and unfettered access to their lawyers and their families. Please also ensure that they are protected from torture or other ill-treatment.

I am saddened to hear of the recent crackdown on those exercising their rights to peaceful assembly and freedom of expression. I hope to hear your reply on this urgent matter.

Sincerely, Shawn Nock
